Dear SCEF Supporters,

As SCEF's new Co-Presidents, we enthusiastically announce that the San Carlos Educational Foundation has a lot to be proud of! The 2008-2009 school year was very hectic and together we accomplished much for our San Carlos district schools!

Two parcel measure elections, cuts in state funding that grew as the year progressed and the uncertainty about school funding kicked us all into high gear. Despite tough economic times and busy lives, parents, students, teachers, businesses, community members and extended family came together in support of our San Carlos students, with countless volunteer hours and contributions to our Annual Giving Campaign.

The dedication our community showed for staying involved and informed made it happen. SCEF raised a record $1.29 million and was able to preserve all programs for 2009-10.

You helped make 2008-09 another record setting year for SCEF!

You may wonder where we need to go from here. We exceeded our goal and met our Spring Participation Challenge last year, but funding challenges continue for 2010-11. In order keep SCEF funded programs whole for 2010-11, we need to raise $1.7 million. Our schools are increasingly reliant on local sources of funding such as SCEF and parcel measures and we ask that you support SCEF, and if you can, please consider increasing your past level of support.

SCEF's goal for 2009-2010 is to raise $1.7 million dollars.

Donations received between July 1, 2009, and May 31st, 2010, count towards the Spring Participation Challenge. Spread the word to preschool families and your extended family, apply for your company's matching donation, attend Spring Fling and above all, make a donation to SCEF's Annual Giving Campaign.
